Anyone shopping for a house in Port Charlotte should check out South Gulf Cove homes. About 55 miles of canals run through the community and lead to Interceptor Waterway, which runs the length of the community. Ultimately the canals provide access to the Gulf of Mexico. Much of South Gulf Cove real estate has direct access to the canals and a small dock to tie up a boat. For those who don’t have waterfront property, there is a community dock. The water level of the canals in the community are controlled by a system of locks, so the level is always around five to six feet. Many species of fish live in the brackish water, including tarpon, trout, snapper, and many others. Imagine how amazing it would be to step out your back door and into your boat, then catch your lunch or dinner and bring it home.
South Gulf Cove homes are on the newer side, and there are even plots of land available to purchase so you can build your dream home. Already-built homes are on lots that have concrete sea walls, as well as natural sites without a wall. The houses in the community have been beautifully upgraded with stainless steel appliances, tile floors, and stone countertops in the kitchens. The master bedrooms are wonderful retreats. They have large soaking tubs in the spa-like ensuite bathrooms. Many homes also have a pool and screened-in patio. Living space expands to enjoy the sun and warm breezes. These homes are great for entertaining, with great rooms and outdoor kitchens.
Residents of South Gulf Cove enjoy everything Port Charlotte has to offer, including plenty of shopping and dining. The local public schools are quite good, too. The local high schools have good track records in preparing students to go on with college or technical schools and have high graduation rates.
